Menu Selections:

Menus are not limited to the listed selections. Our catering coordinators can assist in arranging a special menu to meet any group's individual needs. Menu prices are subject to change.

Service Charge:

A 20% service charge will be added in addition to the menu price. For wedding receptions an extended service charge of 25% will apply. State sales tax will be added when applicable.

Party Size:

When making your reservation, please tell us approximately how many guests to expect. Your guarantee is due 72 hours (3 working days) prior to your event for general events and 8 working days prior for wedding receptions as this will aid us in appropriately setting up your room and in preparation of food and beverage you have ordered.  In the event a guarantee is not received, we will use your estimated number for your guarantee.  We will prepare 5% over to accommodate the last minute guests.  You will be charged for the guarantee or the number served whichever is greater.  Guarantees cannot be decreased less than 72 hours before the event.  Catered events going more than 5% over their guarantee will be accommodated in the best manner possible.  A $2.00 per person additional service fee will be added to meals going over the 5%.  Catering orders changed under the 72 hour deadline will have a $2.00 per person additional fee added. Catering ordered less than 48 hours from date needed will have a $2.00 per person additional fee added.

Ordering Options:

Food for catered events can be ordered on an a la carte or per person basis. When catering is ordered on a per person basis, such as a buffet meal, the IMU produces quantities in excess of projected usage to maintain a full and attractive table and to cover unexpected situations that may occur. The hosting organization is not allowed to remove this food, even if the number of guests served is less than the guarantee count (this also applies to plated meals). Under no circumstances may guests take equipment such as trays, bowls or pans. Our catering service will donate any leftover food to Table to Table, a local food recovery organization.

We welcome your patronage and look forward to making your event a pleasant experience. Please do not hesitate to contact us for further information at imu.uiowa.edu/food/catering or (319) 335-3105.
