Hourly employees are paid on a bi-weekly payroll schedule. You can find the payroll schedule on the UI Payroll web site or a copy can be obtained from the ULC Human Resources Office. Schedules are also posted by the time keeping system in the IMU.
You can also find helpful information at the UI Payroll site regarding tax withholding.
W-4's can be changed at any time unless you are a non-resident of the U.S.
W-4's for non-resident bi-weekly employees, regardless of marital status, are set up as single, one allowance with an additional $15.30 withheld per pay check for federal withholding; and for state withholding, single and one allowance.
It is important to note that for students who receive multiple types of checks from the UI (bi-weekly and monthly), the federal and state tax withholding is based upon the gross taxable earnings on each individual check. This could result in under withholding for federal and/or state tax for your total income for the year. You can use the two earner/two job worksheets on the back of the federal and state W-4 forms to determine if you need to adjust your withholding. The forms are available from our office if you need to review your withholding.
Students may view their history of earnings statements on ISIS. If you go to ISIS on the Web under "student records" you will see a menu item for "earnings statement" to select. This will show you all of the pay checks issued to you and when you click on a particular check it will show you the detailed statement for that respective check.
