History of the Center:

In the Spring of 2005 the Executive Board of The UI Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender and Allied Union met with then UI President Skorton and Vice President of Student Services & Dean of Students Phillip Jones to discuss the possibility of securing a center for The UI GLBT community. The Center opened its doors the Fall 2006 as a space to interact with other glbt students and to enhance their educational experience at The University of Iowa.
