Arts & Entertainment

The Office of Student Life works closely with these student organizations to provide arts and entertainment opportunities at The University of Iowa.

  • The Bijou Theater

    The Bijou Theater is one of the nation preeminent student-run theaters, and is Eastern Iowa's source for independent, art house, foreign and classic cinema.
  • CAB (Campus Activities Board)

    CAB brings free entertainment to campus: coffeehouse musicians, nationally known comedians, popular movies and much, much more.
  • Fine Arts Council

    The Fine Arts Council supports UI artists while promoting all forms of art on campus.
  • KRUI

    The UI student-run radio station is an educational laboratory that provides the community with alternative music, news and sports programming.
  • Lecture Committee

    Organizes a series of prominent guest lecturers with the mission of enhancing the UI learning environment.
  • SCOPE - Student Commission On Programming & Entertainment

    Students book and bring internationally known artists to campus, gaining experience in all aspects of concert production.
  • Student Video Productions (SVP)

    SVP produces videos for student organizations and for broadcast on UITV.
The Lecture Committee brought former president Bill Clinton to Carver-Hawkeye Arena in March 2003.
