Student Leadership Room - Room #351

Formerly known as: Michigan Room

The University of Iowa embraces a thriving culture of student life and has a proud history of supporting student leadership. This room celebrates the breadth of extracurricular leadership opportunities available at Iowa, and recognizes the thousands of students who have contributed their time, talent, and effort to their organizations over the years.

The UI is home to over 500 student organizations, and every new Hawkeye is encouraged to get involved in at least one of them. Student organizations at the University of Iowa provide an important opportunity for students to form lasting friendships, learn from each other, and develop lifelong leadership skills. Our student organization experiences are one of the many reasons why Iowa graduates go on to become local, national, and even global leaders.

Pictures throughout this room feature student-led organizations such as University of Iowa Student Government, Dance Marathon, Campus Activities Board, Homecoming, SCOPE Productions, Fraternity and Sorority Life, multicultural groups, and others that contribute to a vibrant UI campus environment. These organizations host events and programs, advocate about important student issues, fundraise for worthy causes, share different cultures with the student body, and provide community for students to learn and grow.
