If you are unsure where an office is located, enter the IMU along Madison Street (across from the IMU parking ramp) and walk straight ahead to the welcome center desk located on your right hand side. Staff will direct you to the IMU Student Health and Well-Being Center entrance, off the elevators of the south lobby on the first floor of the IMU.

Basic Needs

Location: Offices on first floor of the IMU Student Health and Well-Being Center. Food Pantry at Iowa remains on the ground floor of the IMU.

Hours: The Food Pantry is open 3–6 p.m. Monday, 1–7 p.m. Tuesday, 11 a.m.–7 p.m. Wednesday, 11 a.m.–6 p.m. Thursday, 11 a.m.–2 p.m. Friday. Make an appointment for personalized assistance.

Dean of Students

Location: Second floor, Room 211, of the IMU Student Health and Well-Being Center

Hours: If you have a meeting in the Dean of Students office, you must be buzzed in by a receptionist at the window outside the office.

Division of Student Life Human Resources

Location: Fourth floor, Room W465, of the IMU Student Health and Well-Being Center

Hours: 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Monday through Friday

Student Accountability

Location: Fourth floor, Room W430, of the IMU Student Health and Well-Being Center

Hours: 8 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday

Student Care and Assistance

Location: First floor of the IMU Student Health and Well-Being Center

Student Health

Location: The Nurse Care office of Student Health is on the third floor, Room W300, of the IMU. The main Student Health office is currently located at 4189 Westlawn and will open in the IMU for the spring semester. Hours for the Westlawn location can be found online.

Nurse Care hours: 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9:30 a.m.–4:45 pm. Friday. Nurse Care is closed each day for lunch from 1–2 p.m. and elevators will not go to third floor at that time.

Student Legal Services

Location: Fourth Floor, Room W470, of the IMU Student Health and Well-Being Center

Hours: 8 a.m.–noon and 2:30–4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m.–1 p.m. Friday

Student Wellness

Location: First floor of the IMU Student Health and Well-Being Center

Hours: 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Monday through Friday

University Counseling Service (UCS)

Location: Second floor, Room W200, of the IMU Student Health and Well-Being Center

Hours: 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Monday through Friday

North entrance

Open. At the north end of the building on Madison Street, with an accessible entrance.

Closest to the Iowa Hawk Shop, the Food Pantry, Chick-fil-A, the Hawk Shop Café, and the HawkeyEsports Arcade on the ground floor, and to the Main Lounge, North Room, and Sunporch on the first floor. Also the shortest route to the International Ballroom on the second floor and to the offices at the north end of the third floor.

Closest parking: North Campus Ramp, 340 N. Madison Street, about a five minute walk.

East entrance

Open. Steps only — there is no accessible route at this entrance. For step-free access, use the Hubbard entrance, which has a ramp.

On Madison Street, opening into the first floor east lobby beside the South Room.

Closest parking: IMU Parking Ramp, 120 N. Madison Street, directly across the street.

Hubbard entrance

Open, with a ramp. This is the accessible entrance to the IMU. On Madison Street, across from the IMU Parking Ramp, opening onto Hubbard Commons a few steps from the welcome center desk.

Use this entrance for the Student Health and Well-Being Center. Two sets of elevators serve it, and which one you want depends on the floor:

• First and second floors — the south lobby elevators, just past the welcome center.
• Third and fourth floors — follow the first floor hallway through the Well-Being Center to the elevators near Student Wellness. On the third floor they open directly into Student Health.

Closest parking: IMU Parking Ramp, 120 N. Madison Street, a one minute walk.

South entrance — closed

Closed for the renovation. It is the entrance nearest the Student Health and Well-Being Center, so use the Hubbard entrance instead.

The Hubbard Park lot south of the IMU is also closed; only construction and delivery vehicles are permitted there.

Bike racks are available at the north end of the IMU.

• HawkeyEsports Arcade: now in The Hawkeye Room (G350), ground floor, with limited console availability.
• Union Station food court: closed permanently. Visit the Hawk Shop Café and the Chick-fil-A pop-up on the ground floor, and watch for food trucks on select days.
• River Room: closed.
• Office of the Vice President for Student Life: operating remotely. 319-335-3557.
• Student Health: main office is at 4189 Westlawn until spring semester. Nurse Care is open now in W300.

Parking at the IMU

• The Hubbard Park lot south of the IMU is closed except for service vehicles.
• A limited number of 60-minute spaces are available in front of the IMU on Madison Street. Parking is $2.10 an hour, paid through the ParkMobile app.
• Bike racks are available at the north end of the IMU. 

Ramps and lots

The IMU Parking Ramp is entered from North Madison Street, across from the east side of the building. The North Campus Ramp is at the north end of Madison Street by North Hall. The Library Lot is entered from South Madison Street.

From Interstate 80

1. Take exit 244 and turn south on Dubuque Street.
2. Follow Dubuque Street south to Market Street.
3. Turn right onto Market Street, which is one way.
4. Use the left lane for the IMU Parking Ramp or the short-term spaces in front of the IMU; use the right lane for the North Campus Ramp.

From US 6

This route has a 10 foot 5 inch maximum height clearance.

1. Follow US 6 to Iowa Avenue.
2. Turn east onto Iowa Avenue.
3. Follow Iowa Avenue to Madison Street and turn left.
4. Follow Madison Street to the IMU Parking Ramp or the North Campus Ramp.

The area south of the IMU is closed to public parking; only construction and delivery vehicles are permitted.
