Professor Barbara Finlayson-Pitts of the Department of Chemistry at the University of California (UC), Irvine will deliver the 2nd True Distinguished Lecture on Friday, April 14 at 12:30 p.m. in the Iowa Memorial Union (IMU) International Ballroom. Food and drink will be available at a meet-and-greet reception in the ballroom prior to the lecture and a poster session is also planned to highlight research in the Department. The public lecture is entitled "Chemistry, Coughing and Climate: Challenges and Opportunities in the Air Quality-Climate Nexus.”
Professor Finlayson-Pitts is a Distinguished Professor at UC-Irvine and Co-Director of the Atmospheric Integrated Research at University of California, Irvine Institute (AirUCI). The research of Professor Finlayson-Pitts focuses on complex surfaces and air quality, with understandings relevant to atmospheric chemistry, climate change, and sustainability.
